MCAVHN
provides:
- Anonymous Hepatitis C (HCV) Testing and Counseling
- Anonymous HIV Testing and Counseling
- Harm Reduction Approach
Knowledge is power.
The only way a person can know if she or he is HIV positive or HCV positive
is by taking a test. Before the test is given, staff provides
information about the test and risk behaviors. A brief risk assessment
is conducted and a small amount of demographic information is collected.
MCAVHN now provides
a variety of testing options for persons with high risk behaviors: men
who have sex with men, injecting drug users and sexual and needle sharing
partners of these risk behaviors. The HCV test is a finger
poke with a drop of blood. Results are returned in about 2 weeks.
Due to budgetary constraints MCAVHN provides referrals for HIV testing at this time.
